Study Builder Professional Edition
- StudyBuilder Professional Edition provides the ability to design and
reuse simple and complex, local, national and international medical
studies. The software runs on computers running Microsoft Windows
95/ 98/ 2000/ 2003/ ME/ NT/ TabletPC/ XP.
The main study design checklist
Properties of the study such as how many subjects will take part, which hospitals
will participate etc. are collected by simple use of ‘Wizards’. The study checklist
allows users to see how far through the complete study design process they are at
any time.

When you need to select questions, the screen appears similar in layout to Windows
Explorer in which your monitor screen is divided into a left side – the validated
question library, and a right side - your what-you-see-is-what-you-get preview of the
study materials.
The study design studio
A study is easily designed by dragging questions out of the extensive library of
validated study questions, and dropping them into your study materials. You can
instantly see what the materials (paper forms, computer databases, study manuals
and protocols) which will actually be used to collect the study information will look
like.
An experienced user can design a study in a day. However, as study design is a
process of continuous refinement we expect most users to spend a few weeks on
and off building the first version of their study, returning every month or two to
incorporate feedback and refinements suggested by the study users. Only
StudyBuilder makes this practical.
Once the study design is complete, pressing the ‘build study’ button automatically
builds all the study materials: paper forms, computer databases, study manuals and
protocols. If the study is to be deployed in several countries, the software uses
professionally validated translations to produce the materials in the appropriate
